Learn Transfusion is the seminar component of Canadian Blood Service's Transfusion Medicine Residency program. This program is primarily designed to meet the needs of the Transfusion Medicine Residents registered in the Canadian Blood Services/University postgraduate training activities in Canada. It accords to the Royal College standards for both academic and post graduate credits. All trainees and practitioners in the field of Transfusion Medicine are welcome to enroll and attend these seminars. To do so, please email learn.transfusion@blood.ca with the subject “Weekly Transfusion Medicine Seminars” and include your request, and your complete e-mail address in the body of the e-mail. You will then receive weekly e-mail invitations with the call-in number and a link to register for the Webinar. For the most part, these presentations will take place on Tuesday mornings at 12 noon ET. On the last Thursday of the month, the University of Toronto Transfusion Rounds will be featured at 12 noon ET. All educational sessions are self-approved group learning activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the academic year, provided you complete the surveys that are sent out after each seminar.
All events, whether journal club, specific topic discussions, or basic science presentations will be entered in advance on the events calendar. Please note that there have been many changes made to the website this year. The Topic Teaching and Scientific sessions have been combined. You will be able to find our past presentations and references to the presentations in the Events section. These talks are not recorded.
