Tanya Petraszko, MD, FRCP(C)

Dr Petraszko completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario in 1993. She completed residency in internal medicine at the University of British Columbia followed by a fellowship in Hematology. She completed a further fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at Canadian Blood Services BC & Yukon in 2000.

She was employed as acting Medical Director for CBS BC & Yukon before starting a full time clinical hematology practise at Vancouver Hospital in 2001. In addition to clinical haematology she practised apheresis medicine at VH which included therapeutic plasma exchange, photopheresis, and peripheral blood stem cell collection. In 2006 she retired from clinical practise and returned to CBS BC & Yukon as a medical consultant where she is responsible for the HLA matched platelet program.

She is the current chair of the TRALI Medical Review group and is involved in many local and national initiatives at CBS. She is a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia and continues to hold appointments with the Division of Hematology at UBC and VH.
